Founded in 1988 and embarking on its 33rd season in 2026/27, Lantern Theater Company produces plays that investigate and illuminate what is essential in the human spirit and the spirit of the times. POSITION SUMMARY
Working closely with the General Manager, Patron Services Manager, and Box Office Manager, the Box Officer is responsible for assisting patrons with ticket and subscription purchases and exchanges in person, via email, and over the phone. Training on the Lantern’s ticketing system, PatronManager, will be provided and compensated in August.
WORK SCHEDULE
The Box Officer works a part-time schedule beginning with the first week of performances for each play, covering box office shifts on non-performance days and occasional performances. Shifts will primarily be from 9:30AM to 5:30PM on Mondays and Tuesdays, and 9:30AM to 2PM on Fridays.
The Box Officer must be available for potential extension weeks of any given production.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Facilitate ticket and subscription purchases in person, via email, and over the phone
- Print tickets and assist patrons with any issues
- Occasional coverage of performances might be requested
DESIRED EXPERIENCE
Successful candidates will have excellent customer service skills, especially on the phone. Experience with PatronManager and/or other CRMs is a plus.
This position begins with training in August 2026 and runs through mid-June 2027 for approximately 22 performance weeks during the 2026/27 season.
