About Artcinia
Artcinia and its Music in YOUR Neighborhood program were launched in June 2021 as a pandemic-era response to the performance cancellations and venue closures that severely disrupted Philadelphia’s performing arts community. Established to support professional musicians and reconnect communities during a period of isolation, the program soon evolved beyond a crisis response to focus on improving access to the performing arts.
With early support from individuals and foundations, Music in YOUR Neighborhood has grown into a citywide program. By June 2026, the organization will reach several programmatic milestones, including its fifth year of operations, its engagement with over 20 community-based performance partners, each serving distinct local audiences, and its 200th performance. Our model is simple: concerts co-created with artists, local leaders, and neighbors so that every performance reflects the community’s interests. Grounded in excellence, affordability, and cultural relevance, Artcinia makes the arts personal, accessible, and essential. We believe music isn’t for some—it’s for everyone, everywhere.
Artcinia is now positioned to extend its impact on the City of Philadelphia by deepening community engagement, expanding neighborhood partnerships, and strengthening its institutional infrastructure. The appointment of its first executive director is the next important step in ensuring the organization’s future growth. We are looking for a self-starting, highly motivated individual with executive experience in the arts industry to take Artcinia to the next level.
