Executive Director

Executive Director Position:

Steel River Playhouse is a non-profit theatre and education organization dedicated to sharing stories that reflect our collective humanity by providing a nurturing and empowering environment that represents and serves our diverse community.  We are looking for an Executive Director to continue our trajectory of growth and improvement for the theater and its impact on Pottstown and the surrounding communities.

The successful candidate will be a leader who inspires loyalty and enthusiasm among the staff, performers, volunteers, and donors who make Steel River what it is.  This leader must also bring the vision and presence that makes the theater a magnet for talent and support. This includes our current, very successful Education department, our deep roots in community engagement, and the range, number, and variety of shows and other artistic endeavors.

A particular priority for this leader will be significantly growing contributed revenue and deepening relationships with our audience, donors, foundations, and government funders, in close partnership with the Development Director.

Job Duties

• Lead the business, financial, and administrative operations of the theater.
• Create and manage the annual operating budget in partnership with the Board of Directors.
• Oversee fundraising, donor relations, grant writing, and marketing strategies related to the vision and mission of Steel River Playhouse.
• Supervise administrative, box office, creative, and front-of-house staff.
• Coordinate facility operations and maintain community and artist relations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in arts administration, non-profit management, business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 3 to 5 years of leadership experience in an arts, theater, or similar non-profit.
• Proven success in fundraising, budget tracking, and revenue generation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
   

Compensation

• Salary Range: $70,000 – $90,000 per year

This is a full-time job, primarily in person.  Relocation assistance is not offered.
