Immediate opening for Marketing & Communications Coordinator

Reports to: Executive Director
Status: Full-Time, Salaried (Exempt)
Salary: $46,000 annually

Position Summary

The Park Avenue Community Center (PAC Center) is seeking a creative, organized, and relationship-driven Marketing & Communications Coordinator to coordinate and execute the organization’s day-to-day marketing and communications efforts.

Working closely with the Executive Director and Program Directors, you’ll help increase awareness of the PAC Center, promote classes and events, strengthen community engagement, and showcase the people and stories that make our organization unique. This role offers variety, creativity, collaboration, and the opportunity to help shape how our community experiences the PAC Center while growing your marketing and communications skills.

Key Responsibilities

Marketing & Communications

Implement annual marketing and communications plans in collaboration with the Executive Director.

Develop and execute marketing campaigns that increase enrollment, attendance, and community participation.

Maintain a comprehensive marketing calendar for classes, workshops, concerts, special events, and fundraising initiatives.

Ensure all communications reflect the PAC Center’s brand, mission, and values.

Bring fresh ideas and creative approaches to increase awareness, participation, and community engagement.

Program Promotion

Coordinate promotional efforts for the PAC Center’s three core program areas:

Children & Youth

Health & Wellness

Arts & Culture

Collaborate with Program Directors to understand upcoming offerings and identify effective marketing opportunities.

Write engaging program descriptions, website content, email copy, advertisements, and calls to action.

Monitor registration trends and support promotional efforts that help programs meet enrollment goals.

Content Creation & Storytelling

Create and schedule content for social media, email newsletters, digital advertising, and the PAC Center website.

Write press releases.

Interview instructors, participants, artists, and community members to develop compelling stories that highlight the organization’s impact.

Capture or coordinate photography and short-form video content for social media, the website, and promotional campaigns.

Coordinate the production of print materials including flyers, posters, postcards, signage, and brochures.

Relationship & Asset Management

Build positive working relationships with instructors, artists, performers, and community partners.

Coordinate the collection of biographies, headshots, class descriptions, promotional images, logos, and other marketing assets.

Proactively manage deadlines and follow up to ensure materials are received on time.

Review submissions for accuracy, completeness, and consistency with organizational branding.

Maintain an organized digital library of marketing assets for future use.

Community Outreach

Represent the PAC Center through partnerships, community events, and outreach initiatives.

Coordinate promotional materials for tabling opportunities, local festivals, and collaborative events.

Help strengthen relationships with schools, businesses, nonprofits, municipalities, and community organizations throughout Delaware County.

Digital Presence

Keep the PAC Center website current with accurate program information and event listings.

Manage social media channels and monitor engagement.

Develop and maintain Media relationships.

Support email marketing campaigns and audience segmentation.

Assist with online advertising and other promotional initiatives within budget guidelines.

Utilize digital tools and emerging technologies to improve efficiency and strengthen marketing efforts.

Analytics & Reporting

Track marketing performance metrics, including website traffic, email engagement, social media growth, registrations, and event attendance.

Provide regular reports and recommendations to leadership.

Analyze campaign performance and recommend creative, data-informed improvements to future marketing efforts.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.

One to three years of experience in marketing, communications, nonprofit promotion, or a related field. Internship or relevant volunteer experience will also be considered.

Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills.

Experience with Canva, Microsoft Office or Google Workspace, website content management systems, social media management, and email marketing platforms such as Mailchimp or Constant Contact.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Experience creating social media graphics, photography, or short-form video content is a plus.

Familiarity with AI-assisted productivity or content creation tools is a plus.

Work Environment & What We Offer

This position is primarily based on-site at the Park Avenue Community Center in Swarthmore, Pennsylvania, with flexibility for remote work when appropriate. Evening and weekend hours may occasionally be required to support programs, performances, and special events.
