Position Summary    

The Venue Sales & Marketing Manager is responsible for generating earned revenue through facility rentals, group sales, and group tour bookings at the National Liberty Museum. This position serves as the primary point of contact for prospective rental clients and is responsible for the full sales cycle, including prospecting, lead generation, client outreach, site tours, proposal development, contract negotiation, and booking fulfillment. 

The Venue Sales & Marketing Manager will oversee all aspects of rental administration, including contract management, invoicing, payment collection, and coordination with vendors and service providers such as caterers, audiovisual partners, security personnel, and event support staff. 

In addition to venue rentals, the position will actively promote group visits, educational tours, and other museum programs to schools, community organizations, corporations, and affinity groups. The role will also support the planning and execution of museum events and public programs as needed. 

The successful candidate will maintain and manage prospecting databases, sales pipelines, customer relationship management (CRM) systems, and performance reporting. The position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while delivering exceptional customer service. 

Candidates should possess a strong working knowledge of marketing and communications platforms, including email marketing systems such as Constant Contact. Experience with digital marketing, social media marketing, paid search advertising, graphic design, and content creation is highly desirable. 

 

Core Responsibilities 

  • Generate venue rental revenue through proactive outbound sales and business development activities. 
  • Conduct client outreach, prospecting, lead generation, and venue tours. 
  • Manage the full rental sales process from inquiry through event completion. 
  • Prepare proposals, contracts, invoices, and related sales documentation. 
  • Coordinate rental logistics with internal staff and external vendors. 
  • Promote group sales, school visits, corporate outings, and group tour opportunities. 
  • Maintain prospect databases, sales records, and performance metrics. 
  • Manage payment processing and account reconciliation related to rentals and group sales. 
  • Execute email marketing campaigns and support venue marketing initiatives. 
  • Assist with museum events, public programs, and other revenue-generating activities. 
  • Collaborate with museum leadership to develop strategies that increase earned revenue and attendance. 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience in venue sales, event sales, hospitality sales, museum rentals, tourism, or related fields. 
  • Proven success in outbound sales, lead generation, and client relationship management. 
  • Experience with CRM systems and sales reporting. 
  • Familiarity with Constant Contact or similar email marketing platforms. 
  • Experience with digital marketing, social media advertising, paid search campaigns, and graphic design software is preferred. 
  • Strong communication, organizational, and project management skills. 
  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends in support of events and rentals.
